 Valerie was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Bethany College, in Lindsborg, Kansas where she met her husband Jim. They married in 1980 and both taught school and coached athletics. They were blessed with two children, Joshua and Rebekah, and moved to Bend in 1990.
Valerie began working at New Hope shortly after they moved to Bend and has seen first hand the exciting growth (surviving three building campaigns!) that has taken place. She enjoys the challenge of keeping the office running smoothly and feels blessed to work with such an awesome staff and congregation.
Now that the Whitcomb children are away at college, Val has more time for hobbies she enjoys such as gardening, reading and quilting. She and Jim are frequent visitors at Starbucks and have even been seen on a red Ducati, which proves to Val that you are never too old to try something new. |
