 Lloyd was born and raised in the Portland area. He attended college at the University of Colorado in Boulder , Colorado , where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Lloyd spent 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corps followed by 8 years as a Special Agent with the Secret Service. His last career before retiring was in the commodity brokerage business.
Lloyd was raised in a Christian home and accepted the Lord when he was 8 years of age. When his occupation allowed, he was frequently involved in church ministry. At his last church, Lloyd served as the pastor for 6 months while the church was "between pastors."
Lloyd enjoys fishing, hunting, motorcycling, day-trading stocks, and traveling. He and his wife Marie have been married 46 years and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Their children live in Bend , Portland , Friday Harbor and Denver so they do get to travel.
In 2004, Lloyd and Marie moved to Bend and began attending New Hope . Lloyd leads a Small Group, is a Community Leader and has recently taken on responsibilities for Seniors ministry at New Hope . |
